Mind The Gap

Despite an attention seeking conscience,
Greed ensures that it is rarely in the audience.
How can you state that you do listen and take heed?
Yeah right, convince me you’re not here through greed!

Opportunities and ambitions instead,
Packed into this overcrowded city.
Ah, you’re thoughts are clearly inbred,
Sporting clubbed feet with options to pity.

This tube snakes towards Moorgate,
Carrying an army who dare not be late.
Symbolising repetitive journeys towards promotion,
Sweat, barging, tuts such commotion.

This is no Trojan tube of joy, just misery

There is no Helen of Liverpool Street here today
Beggars, some genuinely down on their luck,
Others, seizing the opportunistic fast buck.

Fat cats, with more money than sense,
Wouldn’t bend down to retrieve 50 pence.
Passenger politics, even back-benchers come into play,
Ruffling up their feathers due to the frustrating delay.
