Battle, fields apart
Like Shepardless sheep sent into battle
Wars prisoners with no cage to rattle
An army of cells of a tortured mind
The owner of the body stand up mankind
Not twisted by the insane laughter around
Challenging the battle on a moral ground
Instead by a lack of individuality within the war
Some fought without questioning what it was for
Third party addicts to this common craze
A memento of mans greed and destructive ways
Violence and vanity left some alone with prayers
Others accepted political struggles complicated layers
Right or wrong? Depends on the principal at stake
Yet, how many times and lives will it take
Will patterns and time provide the essential answers
Or will we be molded by hierarchical driven 'chancers'
Fighting evil can be the way to preserve goodness
Catch 22, as fighting introduced us to this mess
Now we must protect our families and our land
Still unable to comprehend, of fully understand
As fighting infantry, no alternative but to lend support
Believing deep down, some politicians should face court
